The Crawley family lives in the mythical Downton Abbey, which they see it's their mission to protect and maintain. This drama centers on their family affairs and also their servants, it sets in the past so we can see how the World War I affected them for instance. It's a nice family drama, with lots of characters, lots of details (especially regarding social, political, economic and historical matters) and some funny or dark moments. The writers develop the characters in a different and peculiar way, you can love them or hate them in minutes without loosing realism.

This one is a very different tv series, it's basically about terrorism nowadays. Carrie Mathison, a CIA agent, is warned that an american prisoner had been turned by al-Qaeda. When Marine Sergeant Nicholas Brody is rescued in Iraq and returns home after eight years presumed dead after being captured, Carrie suspects that he is the one she is looking for and so, the adventure begins. I completely understand why it has so much recognition, it has action, intrigue and plot twists, everything a thriller/suspense drama should have. I have to admit I had some doubts when I begun watching it but it slowly conquered me although now (after the end of the 4th season) I don't know if this drama should go on, it kind of hit the end for me. Let's wait and see what happens.
